In case you are getting calls from the wonderful people at NCO Financial Systems. You should read some messages people have posted about this company. Apart from having to pay $1.5 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that it violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), there are also many many claims of state and federal violations of legislation like the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
The company purchases old debt from people like your cellphone provider, hospitals and the government for pennies on the dollar and then tries to collect it. You may have even already paid the bill, like I had, but that is really a minor irrelevant point. The reality is, much if not most of this debt is so old noone has any obligation to repay any of it, least of all not to NCO. Many people have been harassed for debt belonging to neighbors, relatives, old residents of the same address, and co-workers. Don’t pay NCO a penny.
If you receive letters or phone calls from NCO or phone numbers like
800-709-8625 or 888-804-3488 or 877-803-8009 or 800-541-2742 or 888-688-7929 or 800-445-4918 or 866-569-8956 or 800-218-1175 or 800-448-9576 or 800-684-8429 or 866-429-3592 or 800-976-8307 or 877-871-6484 or 800-735-6588 or 800-220-1942 or 877-778-1799 or 800-227-4000 or 800-807-7809 or 866-626-9112 or 866-425-8131 or 800-967-4100 or 877-252-4534 or 877-202-9074 or 888-691-8955 or 888-259-3021 or 800-437-7403 or
800-383-4761 or 866-360-9791 you should read this page about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If NCO does anything wrong with you, you could be entitled to $1000 per infraction and they may have to pay your lawyer and possibly even your debt.
To halt their “contact”, send NCO a certified, return-receipt cease and desist letter (they throw away all faxes and non-certified letters). A sample letter might read (though, you must seek real legal advice, which I’m not):
This is to advise you that pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) 15 USC 1692c(c), you are hereby notified to immediately terminate any contact with me, or any members of my family or household, regarding any matter concerning the collection of a debt you allege is owed to your company or to your principal/customer/client. This notice shall include, but is not limited to written correspondence, as well as telephonic communication. This letter also verifies that I live at the address above, therefore, any further locator attempts would be a violation of the FDCPA.

Is NCO calling you? Do you have a new NCO phone number or information? Please leave a comment and share it with the rest of us. Thanks!
NCO may or may not report your debt dispute with them on your credit report. It is important to make sure that if NCO puts anything on your credit report, all of the information is accurate, such as date of debt, last activity on account and the correct amount. That information is not always placed on all three major reports and your valid creditors usually only check one of these sources, so make sure you check all three (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian) for correct information. You should also check your credit score at these agencies to see the impact of your debt history on your credit-worthiness. Click to obtain a copy of your 3-in-1 Credit Report.
If NCO does not leave you alone, Lexington Law is an affordable legal tool to get them to stop calling and writing you. They are also very effective at deleting the negative information off of your credit reports.
Oh, and Miss Hill, thanks for calling ;)
Important! File a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General – easy online form (NCO is a PA company and PA is investigating NCO)
P.S. The Pennsylvania Attorney General recently finished a big case against them, though the complaints continue.

For anyone out there who is willing to pay NCO for a debt….DO OT give them your Credit Card number or send them a check. They will then have your info and can debit your account at their will. Send them money orders instead.
I did not have NCO debit my accounts, but have had others do it. Sure, you make arrangements for paying them and heaven forbid something should happen to you and you not be able to make a payment…that’s when they’ll take your money WITHOUT notifying you in advance and if they take money from your bank & you are unaware you can bounce checks causing you even more headaches!
NCO has called me using the following numbers:
205-561-2457, 240-210-7154, 571-431-1948, and possibly even 800-304-8146, 866-251-0536, 866-251-0699. Of course they never leave a message of ANY type so I can not be certain that the toll free numbers belong to them.
Since they do not bother to leave a message, I can only guess as to why they are calling and if it is for a medical bill, I know they will not listen to why I do not owe the bill since the medical biller did not listen to me or respond to my letter stating why I do not owe them either.
New number: 425-6489464
They just started calling a few hours ago & I’ve let voice mail get the calls…about one an hour. I’ll never answer the phone to these people.
the number nco that is on my voice mail is 866-372-8497 NCO keeps calling my phone number for someone else and I keep telling them it is not me at leese 10 or more times.
NCO phone # (888) 899-8041, x. 4697. Just received a call from Dom Salamone (the name itself makes me laugh) from NCO. I’ve been going through a tough financial and personal time this past year and have a few outstanding credit card balances only for the sake of my own personal survival. So, I receive Dom’s call today about one of my credit card balances. He starts by asking me to pay off the balance…if I had the money, don’t you think I would have paid it already, duh! Then he proceeds to wheel and deal on the balance I owe, saying that I need to pay certain amount today, even ask for my checking account routing and account #. Fortunately, I know a scam when I hear one. He told me that the CC account in question would be charged off this coming Monday. Anyway, to all those unexpecting people with CC balances…that’s about 75% of us, don’t be taken by these under-handed theives from NCO Financial Systems, Inc. They are a TOTAL fraud!!! I can’t wait to call Dom back tomorrow and tell him that I checked his BOGUS company out online! I wonder what he’ll have to say? NOTHING!!!
i have a new nuberfor these scums that keep calling their number is 1877-888-2101 hey and if you want an ext. it is 4707
I receive a phone call this morning. I have no outstanding debt because I just bought a house less than a year ago and if anyone was looking for me then I would have been found at that time. My credit report was cleaned up at that time and I have no outstanding debt with anyone.
The NCO # that called me was 866-637-0270,
a recording of a British accented woman.
They were collecting a student loan debt for me and they did snag my tax return for this month. So dont know if it is too smart to not at least set something up with them. Just do not ever let them know your bank acct number or your place of employment.
New # 866-372-8497
They are calling our buisness night and day, never saying who they are calling for only to call them back at the same number listed on caller id. This is a new buisness number. We have never recieved any written info from them.
so thankful i found this site. ive been getting calls for two years and its so annoying i get several a day. they think im someone else even though i told them im not. i dont have any debt, im a minor
the lastest phonecalls came from 18668161066
Have been getting phone calls from NCO Financial for a couple of months. What’s so annoying is that the calls are recorded messages, not even live humans. I found this out when I answered a call to find out who, and what they wanted, only to have the recording continue to rattle on. I do not plan to answer any more calls, nor do I plan to return any calls. I just want them to stop. As my husband and I are not now, nor have we ever been in arrears on any of our financial obligations, I don’t understand why they are calling us, or even how they got our phone number. Am going to send them a certified letter at the address listed above, although I am very leery of giving them my name and address to go along with my phone number.
New phone # 800-515-8572 Female with NCO asked me for my social security number verifying the last 4 digits but had a wrong address. I paid my account with Seventh Avenue last December. Went online to Seventh Avenue and they show my account with a zero balance. I also contacted Seventh Avenue.
Just got a phone call from a ‘Dawn Poland’ today. The number she gave me was 1-800-388-4519. She also gave me an extension of 85692.
I didn’t see the number on your list, and I find it VERY odd that the number that shows up on caller ID is a 615 number, I assume that’s where they are, but any other time someone calls it shows up as a 1-800 number. Oy.
Everyone is exactly right!! My mother in law owed money and NCO was calling my two brothers and my moms house looking for her, mind you, I just got married to my husband and she doesnt even have their numbers. So, YES they will somehow call your relatives and neighbors. I have no clue how they do it. the numbers were removed. i pretended to be my mother in law who is a polish lady with an huge accent and acted stupid. they asked for my social , i said i know it bc i have it written down, then asked bday and address. found out what she owed on , lied saying i never had a capital one.. they said they will stop calling and take her off the list…
Here is a number that NCO called me from today, concerning a false debt. 888-899-3532
NCO (Canada) started calling me back in May for a debt that I owed to Bell Canada. I tried to make arrangements with them but after my pay didnt come in and they bounced it at the bank. I refused to pay them directly. I tried to talk to Bell to pay them off and they said I had to deal with NCO. I have paid the bill but I pay it directly to Bell.
Now NCO is calling my daughters house and bothering them.I tried to call them today but the girl was a bitch so i got bitchy back and she hung up on me. so now i will send them a letter.
This company is nasty. even in Cananda
new number 866-251-5481
800-782-1758
Called me for weeks about a debt I had. I have no debt.
I have been receiving calls from NCO where the person on the other side gets very aggrasive and very rude. Here are two new # that I have for them 1 800 340-4011 X7658 and 1 800 277-2019 did not see these numbers listed. I am sending a no contact letter
Not to get into a long drawn out story because i see that we are all getting the same calls. This man gave the name of Clint Miranda and trhat number is 1-866-372-8497. I have received calls for three days now. Did my research first. . .and I thank you.
NCO Financial is trying to collect on an alleged $10,000 debt and won’t get a single penny. They can suck it!
Don’t play their game, you make the rules!
#1 Never talk to them over the phone, do not ever call them back and never ever give them your banking info. doing so is like writing a blank check to a stranger on the street.
#2 Put your phone number on the FCC Do-not call list.
#3 Send them a Validation/Dispute/Cease &
Desist letter sent via Certified Mail Return Receipt. Don’t Sign it, type in your name. You could always sign it latter in Court if you decide to sue. If they sue you should counter-sue and your defense could be that since they never validated the alleged debt you were not going to pay them a penny. Chances are they won’t even show up in Court, their just hoping you won’t show so they could obtain a default judgment. Never ignore a summons, get it dismissed!
#4 If you start getting hang up calls with your caller ID Spoofed, call your phone company and ask how to document each call using call trace. After you get tired of the calls file a Police Report, then file Complaints with the FTC and your State Attorney General.
#5 Don’t let them bully you, you be the bully!
I just received my first letter from NCO Financial and their trying to extort me on the same exact debt currently in Collections with another big named agency which has failed to properly validate a debt so their collections efforts are frozen.
I’m not paying a penny to anyone until someone verifies the debt. Someone needs to show me proof they have a copy of the original signed contract/agreement, and proof of acquisition by purchase or assignment to collect on an alleged debt.
The PA Attorney General, the FTC, and the NYC Consumer Affairs Division that grants them their license, is about to get more complaints by this pissed off consumer.
Don’t let them bully you, you be the bully!
I have been harassed by this number for going on 8 months now. I have been ignoring the calls but I decided to find out who was calling so I called the number back. Got voicemail stating the name of the company…NCO financial…and told that this line was not answered by a person. The number they are using (I am in Canada) is: 1-866-287-2543. I do not know what they want and I do not care! Next step..a whistle into the phone line!
New phone number 866-832-1212
New Number 866-400-9488
i just talked with them the other day regarding a consumers energy past bill sent to collections

I was reading some of the postings. To those of you who were told you cannot pay directly to your creditors, that is not correct.
The following is for recent debts or accounts that were just recently turned over for collections.
Most creditors will not turn down your payment. You MUST be sure to keep very precise notes and be able to track any and all payments you make. Your best bet is to open a checking account specifically for your debt. DO NOT USE THIS ACCOUNT FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN YOU SPECIFIC DEBT. You can process payments on line, and have the money taken out of your special account on days that you specify. That way, your creditors will be paid with “guaranteed funds”, meaning that your bank won’t pay unless the funds are available. You have the added bonus of being able to prove payments. If for some reason your creditors don’t receive their money, just call your bank and they will have to do the legwork. If you don’t have internet, or don’t trust it, you can still use the special account. All you have to do is make a deposit for the amount you want to pay, and then mail them a check. Keep a close watch on the account, and be sure to obtain a copy of the cancelled check. You will have to keep this in a folder forever. No joke. More than likely, this will come back to haunt you at a later date. DO SEND PROOF OF PAYMENT TO NCO EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU MAKE A PAYMENT TO YOUR CREDITOR. It is best that you send it certified mail, return receipt requested. It gets expensive, but it is your best bet.
Remember, DON’T SEND THE PAYMENTS TO NCO. DO SEND THEM TO YOUR ORIGINAL CREDITOR.
FYI once an account is turned over to a collection agency, your creditor has to pay a commission to the agency for money collected. If you pay directly to NCO, they will deduct their commission before sending a check to your creditor. If you make payments directly to your creditor, they have to cut a check to NCO. That is why they want you to pay NCO instead of them.
NCO has been calling my cell and I just ignore them.
I just received a call from a woman claiming to be with NCO. She was at number 866-928-7445 and she had to be the absolute nastiest person I have ever encountered. I didn’t get any information about the debt except that it was from 2004. She refused to give me an address to even inquire about the debt that I am unaware of. She has hung up on me twice when I tried to get information. How do these people keep going?
They are calling me and FAMILY members from 866-251-0699.
I got a call about an old dept that was written off. When I called NCO to get an itemized bill of the claim they transferred me about 8 times, each operator tell me to hold without listening to my reason for calling. When I finally got a hold of someone he would not give me any other information excpect that I owed $400. He was extremely rude and even raised his voice at my an implied that I was lieing about never receiving a bill. I decided to contact the company that sent me the bill originally to see if the amount is legit and to make them aware that I would have no further contact with NCO.
I have just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
This company keeps calling me regarding a debt I do not owe. I have confirmed this with the telephone/internet company. NCO insists that the telephone company has put me at collections. The telephone company tells me that I have no outstanding debt with them.
The account number NCO tells me is delinquant does not exist at the telephone company.
NCO tells me that they have put me at the Credit Bureau.
When I ask NCO to tell me the specifics of this supposed delinquant account, they cannot give me any information. They just give me the non-existant account number, and a different $ amount every time. They cannot even tell me the date of this imaginary unpaid invoice.
All they want me to do is add them (NCO) as a payee on my online banking, and send them money.
They keep calling me and also leaving me messages on my machine.
I hope the Better Business Bureau can sort this out.
I have also given all the NCO information to my telephone company, and they are looking into this issue as well.
I just started getting calls from NCO about an old Bank of America account that was settled almost a year ago. They have been calling from 2 phone numbers 571-431-1948 and 205-561-2457. They aren’t getting anything from me!
I work for NCO and you people think that just because we call you cause you spent money that wasnt even yours that your entitled to make bitchy remarks!!! IF YOU DONT HAVE THE CASH DONT SPEND IT!!!! We have a job to fufill! You talk about the economy… well guess what it wouldnt be so bad if you could pay your f-ing bills! There are jobs out there you may not want to do them but hell if it brings you a paycheck! Do you think I like doing collections??? Do you think I like listening to your bullshit excuses of why you cant pay your bills but you can pay 600 dollars in car payments?!?! Stop bitching and take responsiblity for your own mistakes… or overspending!
Ha, Great Post! I do harass some of you deadbeats, but that’s my job. Deal with it and pay your bills and we won’t have to call everyone and track down you losers. I’m a tough guy and can deal with it so I’ll keep calling. It is a great job actually. I will sometimes smoke up a bit on break or at lunch and when I make my calls then I can hardly keep from laughing at all of your bullshit excuses. Pay your bills and we’ll stop calling. NCO has been a great company to work for and maybe some of you low-lifes should get out of the gutter and come work for us http://www.ncogroup.com/Careers/Search_for_Careers_at_NCO.html and pay off your debt. Get a job and pay your bills losers!! Eric
This ignorant woman keeps calling me at work. I accidentally took her call thinking she was someone else. Her number is 770-300-2450, but references me to some 800. Quite frankly she can bite me. I hope she is reading…
I had a delinquent cell phone bill go into collections with NCO…no big deal, I paid it off in two payments, but then after the second one my bank called to let me know I was overdrawn. These people took my $150 payment and almost tripled it and then made it so hard to get it back that I had to get my bank’s legal department involved. I finally did get it refunded to me and have ignored any attempt by NCO to contact me since. They actually sent me a bill for $80 shortly thereafter, but I shredded it and haven’t given it a second thought because they are CROOKS…I am a poor college kid and they stole hundreds of dollars that I did not have and it took months for my bank to get it back for me. If you have a debt that they are handling, be extremely cautious and watch your bank statements like a hawk!
I receved a phone call from 800–897-0308
and later I got a letter from NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEM, INC P.O. BOX 4946 TRENTON NJ 08650-4946 about debt collection( FEDEX DEBT)
I am sure they are criminals
THIS NCO COMPANY HAS BEEN GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND ABOUT MONEY I SENT TO THEM FOR A CLIENT OF THEIRS THAT I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS FOR. I WAS TOLD BY A CERTAIN MAN, EX. 5251 @ 18003905307 THAT MY ACCOUNT WAS GIVEN TO ANOTHER COMPANY, BUT NCO GOT THE MONEY WHEN MY ACCOUNT WAS “CANCELLED” WITH THEM AFTER THE DATE OF WHICH I NO LONGER HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. WESTERN UNION CALLED THESE PEOPLE FOR ME AND COULD NOT GET ANY INFORMATION. BUT! THE MONEY IS NOT IN THEIR RECORDS NOR THE NEW COMPANY’S RECORDS FOR ME. BUT WESTERN UNION SHOWS THAT NCO ACCEPTED MY MONEY. I’M STILL WAITING TO RECIEVE MY MONEY SO THAT I CAN SEND IT TO THE CORRECT PEOPLE. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME? HOW CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK FROM THIS NCO FINANCIAL?
First call came today. Since I know I have no past due bills or debt, I immediatly got on the web to find out abot NCO. I will not return their call. The number I was told to call is 1-800-511-8670.
thanx for the site
I am amazed that these people think they are getting away with this. I have been receiving calls from 2 numbers that I do not recognize but called them back after 9 p.m. Both are from a place called NCO Financial Systems. I have no reason to talk to them but did want to share the two phone numbers that are calling me continually: 253-248-6406 and 215-441-3000. I have learned about the Fair Debt Collection Act and have used it – it does stop the calls or the company can be sued. I will be doing the same to these people. Thanks for posting all the information and the address, now I know what I’m dealing with. Good Luck to everyone and let’s not let these people get away with this any longer. We have the right to fair practice and I intend on making that so.
I had a hospital debt from late last year that I received one bill from the hospital on, then heard nothing else until I got a notice from NCO a couple months ago. I was dumb because after I made a payment online I threw out the bill from them and just kept my copy of the online transaction. Then I went to pay them again online and the information I entered was invalid?? They have never sent a second dun and according to my parents they call almost daily and leave automated messages on our land line. I am really frustrated that they set up an online service that won’t accept the info they give you and they won’t send another invoice. I pay my bills, and I was actually waiting for the hospital and insurance company to get together on the correct amount to start paying. Guess that was dumb of me.
I am getting worreid from reading all your post. I have worked with NCo and have paid off two of my outstanding accounts via a payement plan with them and they have been nice to me. I of corse sent all my payments via check and certified to them. I also requested letters first before my first payment requesting that they indend to relase me from my debt once I paid. then when completed payment requested the letter that siad I have satisfied my debt and have been released from my debt. I have letters dates and times all annotated I have ton of paper trail and have competed paying off two debts with them. NOW THAT I READ ALL THESE POST IM WONDERING IF IT WILL COME OFF MY CREDT I HAVE TALKED TO THEM TODAY AND THEY HAVE ASSURED ME IT TAKES 30-90 DAYS TO CHANGE ON MY CREDIT REPORT THAT IT IS PAID OFF. God I hope i just didnt pay for my debts and still end up owing
18 May 2009 threatening call from NCO (from 866-853-4965) where they questioned me, but REFUSED to divulge who the provider was to me, “against HIPAA regulations”. They did not have a viable address for me, and that was all that I would give them. I will fight them on this charge — IF THEY EVER send an itemized bill.
A message was left for me at home yesterday with a # that does not appear on your list. It may be a new one.
1-800-477-1827
If I call them from my work number and they start harassing me at work, can’t I file a very legitimate law suit?
New number for NCO: 800 810-0590
NCO CALLS ME EVERYDAY 5 TIMES A DAY FROM THIS NUMBER: 866-251-8666
I am gettting a mail from these people for dues to fedex customer svc (don’t know what is this due.). for $ 75 – any advice thaks.just ignore the mail or contact them
thanks so much for this site. i’ve worked really hard to get out of debt and recently started getting these calls (the 800-303-1995 number). i’ve been really nervous that i’d missed something but now i’m not even going to call these people back. i’ll just check my credit report as planned.
“Your comment is awaiting moderation?!” I didn’t type that?!?!
Infrequently (say every couple of weeks), a vaguely threatening message is left regarding collection of a debt, with instructions to return the call and ask for “Mister Lane.” But they never refer to anyone they’re calling BY NAME… like it’s up to ME to prove they’re calling the wrong number, WHICH THEY ARE. Someone named Cheryl Gardner (not me and never HAS been me) has been identified by a skip tracer as having MY telephone number, and NCO aren’t the only debt collectors (read “pond scum”) hounding me!
I receive at least 3 phone calls a day from NCO. I have never answered them, because I never answer calls from numbers that show up on my caller ID that I don’t recognize. They always leave voice mails, but all they say in the voice mail is, “This is regarding a very important personal business matter.” Sometimes it’s a recording, sometimes its an actual person. Sometimes the recordings are done with different voices. Sometimes they say it’s in an attempt to collect a debt, sometimes they just ask for a return call. But it’s all NCO, and it’s all very annoying! This has been happening for about 6 months now and I’m sick of it. I’m reluctant to answer the phone or even contact them by mail. I don’t want them to have my address and start sending me letters too. I don’t want to answer the phone, because then they’ll know they’ve got a number that works. But with all the complaints I have seen about these people, I wonder how they even manage to stay in business? Why does the BBB not do something to stop them, and put them on ice for good? Here are a few numbers not on your list: 866-583-6834, 877-819-6042 (8 calls from this number alone), 800-221-6850, 877-273-3495, 866-239-9526. Sometimes it also comes up as ‘Unknown’.
They called me several times. I called them back several times and said, “If you ever call me again, I will file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Your address is 507 Prudential Rd. in Horsham, PA.” They hung up. They have never called since.
I have received 2 calls from NCO today for the first time. They are looking for my brother and will not tell me what they want with him. They are calling from 800-260-5570. I told them I would not give them his # unless they told me what they wanted with him, which they did not do. How did they get my number? What can I do about it?
New number for NCO as of Tuesday, 12 May 2009 is 877-273-3495.
NCO are the rudess people here is a NEW number for them 800-621-6986
Number on caller ID 800-448-9570, number on voicemail to call back 866-476-7722. They left a message for Marvin Williams. We don’t know this person.
I just received a call from NCO. They were looking to talk to my brother’s ex-wife! How did they find my number? And why are they bothering me about this? There number is 1-877-326-7047 The rep stated that the call was being recorded when I asked what kind of business NCO was, and why they were bothering me. I asked her if it was a debt collection agency, and she said it was probably a good guess…I think she couldn’t state that it was or she would lose her job. She said it was some sort of financial service.
new # for NCO 1-800-260-5570. Calling my mother on a bill she does not owe.
Just got my second call in 2 weeks with another barely understandable message from some girl mumbling something about trying to collect a debt. all I could make out was the 888-212-5966 she said to call back to. I owe nothing!
Sorry: They told me to call back 1-800-597-4549, ref #4GoDV9.
Talk about scumbags! I have spotless credit (Thanks to my parents who taught me well) and they are calling me about debt collection? When I called they were unable or unwilling to divulge any info. They did say that they were calling about Patrick Cleary (nowhere near my name). I said that was not me and to remove me from their list and reference #. Can you guess? They don;t know what number they called and wanted me to give it to them. I think not!
NCO keeps calling my cell phone!! I know I owe a hospital bill from about 8 years ago, when I was having financial problems, but I assumed it had been written off as a bad debt! I have no idea how they got my cell phone number. I always thought that any debt past 7 years was automatically written off. This is driving me nuts, but I am not going to send them any money!! I just hope it doesn’t hurt my credit that I have worked so hard to repair.
They are attempting to collect a debt I don’t owe. Even after they admitted it was for one of my relatives they kept call so I decided to wwaste their exectives time. I called 215-441-300 on the weekend and left a message for the following executives:
Executive Vice-President Steven Leckerman
dial 9 and then 5325
Chief Financial Officer – Steven Winokur
dial 9 and then 9460
I gave them my case number and told them to quit calling. Let’s fill up their voice mail boxes
Yes someone from this company called me today. I have no idea why. But the number they called from is not listed above. The number is 1-877-253-5909.
877-888-2010 is the number they left me and i have no debts. Kathy Sampson was the person to ask for and they called me at 9 p.m.
Also, for the lady with the credit card, if the credit card was gotten from before your marriage and you were only an authorized user, you have the right to call them and tell them to take it off your credit. My ex had a card before we were married and I was an authorized user. Once we were married it went on my report and wouldn’t go away. I called them. First thing they ask is for my SS#. They don’t have that in the computer. I know b/c it was his card. Not mine. They HAD to take it off my credit report b/c it wasn’t my responsibility. You can do the same.
As for ANN, why are you on here if you’re not having problems with NCO, maybe you’re one of them trying to protect your stupidity. I got rid of NCO really quickly. As I said, I work for an attorney. Once they receive that CERTIFIED MAIL, they give up really quickly.
I work for an attorney and I was just looking for a website to make sure we had the address right. We are sending a letter to NCO because they keep calling a client of ours and they are tired of it. Yes, to keep them from calling you all you do is send a cease and desist letter and tell them suit will be filed for damages, penalties and court costs if they contact you in any way form or fashion again. We have to do these kinds of letters all the time. It usually only takes one letter and if they contact anyone again it is the attorney. I guess they feel the need to make sure the attorney is in fact telling the truth.
I received a letter recently almost sent the payment in, but lost their address.
I am thankful for who ever placed this page up to warn others of this company.
I hope they get shut down soon, because they immoral people.
1-888-899-5861
The letter I got listed the NCO address as: PO Box 15630, Dept 02, Wilmington, DE 19850. The “dunning letter” also says: If the statute of limitations has expired you cannot be sued on this debt.” Indicates to me they know they are phishing – just hoping to land a “sucker.”
I am an OIF II veteran. I used my star card (military credit card) to pay for my necessities amounting to about $300.00. Now, I left the military with an honorable discharge and went to california to visit my aunt who has breast cancer. I tried to contact the star card company through their 1-800 number, but they told me that they already sent my account to NCO financial. From that day on. NCO never stop calling me about this. I tried to pay them a minimum amount, but they want the pay in full. Any help will do… Thank you.
I think this is a new number for nco
1-888-899-5883 you can add it to the list. I’m so glad I did some researce on theses people (scary) to think that I almost gave them my account info!!
NCO CAN GO TO HELL! I will give my money to some crackhead before they get it. Those jerks frikin piss me off. They called everybody I know. How do those priks sleep at night? They are tryin’ to garnish my wages for a defaulted student loan. I hope their IDIOT lawyer gets hit by a GREYHOUND BUS on the way to court.@^#*$(&^%(^%$*%^$(%*%_)*+()*_(^$&#$%&(%*)&^)&+)(+&*_(&
A new lovely number to the NCO people of debt collecting is 800-477-1827. They are relentless!!!! It’s a good thing I googled their company and found this website. I almost called them thank you to whoever started this website!
Recently I have been getting alot of calls from a NCO Finance system they call my house more than five times everyday. I don’t know who they are or if it’s from a past bill I owe but I came across all these comments about this company and wondered what they want. The number that calls my house is 1-866-308-1977
1-866-849-2442. His name was Mr. Nichols…when the phone rang it was a pre-recorded message to call this goof ball back. Not even a live person…get real.
These people are ruthless. My 90 years old mom got a phone call this moring looking for a relative and would not say why. They woke her up out of a dead sleep and questioned her. Wanted phone numbers which she did not have and then they would say what you do not know how to call them. There were a lot of personal questions and when I go to my mom she was in tears. I tried to call these people back and they yelled at me and hung up on me. I thought I was going to have to go and get the nurse to give her something to calm her done. This is inexcuseable.
Well, I got a recorded message from NCO about a debt which was strange to as I owe nobody anything. So called the police dept. to see if it was a scam, they said they were indeed a Collections Agency so called them and they said oopps, sorry you are not the one we are looking for and they would take me off the list. About an hour later got another recorded call so I called them back and got a real jerk. I told him I did not need his attitude and he got huffy, said call back and hung up. Well as I am retired I called back, he picked up and hung up, oh well I had nothing better to do than call him back until he talked to me, he said I was “snotty” the first time he talked to me and I told him he had attitude, then he told me that I was not even in the system, well duh he called me, and I was not even the one he was looking for and how he got my number I will never know, well I got it settled and it is my guess that I am not on his Christmas list.
We do not have to take insults from jerks who can not get any kind of job but one that includes calling the wrong people.
Another number they are using is 866 290-4653. What a scam! We have never been in debt!
they are calling me from 253-248-6406
my call came from 267-519-4400 regarding a supposed $40 grand debt that was from 1991. Hello! No record of said 18 year-old debt – but I must say it really creeped me out how much personal info they had. They don’t have a side business going in identity theft do they?!
I’m not even trying to dispute something, I just want to update my address with them! Multiple phone calls have gotten nowhere. Here, go ahead and call “Bertha” (who sounds suspiciously very indian and not “bertha-ish” at all)
1-866-376-1967 X. 7116
Who also said she was in the phoenix AZ office… right.
HAVE FUN WITH IT!
We’ve been getting calls from NCO for weeks. We haven’t picked up because I looked them up on line and found numerous sites like this telling people what rats they are.
However, today they stepped over the line into illegal activity. They called my father in law and when my father in law told them they had the wrong person they disclosed personal information about my husband’s debt to them violating the FDCPA 15 USC 1692 c(d). I have read the comments and they are doing illegal things to many of you. I found an excellent primer on FDCPA by Lawrence Rubin, a PA attorney at law. Do a search you all. NCO is an illegal operation which should be shut down. I already put in a complaint with the Attorney General of PA. You all should do the same.
I’ve been getting calls from NCO financial for months. I know that I don’t have any old debts so I’ve just ignored the calls. They called almost daily for about a month and then it stopped. They just started calling again. The message is saying to return a call to Clint Miranda @ 1-866-372-8497. I don’t think so!
P/S THEIR # IS 800-759-2224
NCO FINANCIAL – CALLED HARRASSING US OF ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT A DEPT OF WHICH WE DON’T HAVE WITH THEM!
So glad I searchedfor info about NCO collections andfound this page. Thank you all foryour letters and comments!!!
I hve about 10 stories aout thier bad practices but have to share this one.
I was ill for most of the 1990’s ,before that I had very good credit. I was unable to make payments onsome of my credit accounts, durring the year 2000 I wa able to start paying off my bad debt even though a lot of the debt was beyond the 7 years. NCO had a lo of these debts and I started to pay them off. When I wa all done by 2004, NCO was finding more (credit I had never had!!!) One of them was Victoria’s Secret!!! Now, I am a guy, was 54 at the time and my wifewas not into Victorias Secret kindof merchandise (although I love what they have to sell and if my wife was in her 20’s or 30’s and was 6′ tall and had a perfect body, I might buy a few items from Victorias Secret, more for me than for her:) ) According to NCO I owed VS $3500.00, now that’s a lot of bra’s and panties!!!
There were other bogus credit Co’s that they tried to getme to pay and some are on my credit reprt and hurting mycredit score (which went from 400 to 700 over a 2 to 3 year period) I think that is very good considering I was 50,000 in debt. But because of NCO I still get refused credit!!! just because of them and paying off money back to 1981. Because I paid off the accounts tat were over 7 years old and no listed on my credit report anymore, theyare back on!!! and hurting me. I owe a total ofless than $2,000 in loans and credit cards and my wife and I earn 6 figure income each year.
I would appreciate any imput from people and what is the fastest way to go after these scam artists (from all of you who have been sucsessful in fighting NCO and thier other Co’s ? I will continue and read to learn what to do and finally after being stuck at a score of 700 for 2 years maybe I can achieve an excellant score that I desirve and get credit just to raise my score. I really hate having credit card now, but youhave to have them if you want to attan good credit, but unfortunatly NCO has me stuck here and I am ready to FIGHT.
Thanks to all and I hope to hear some good advise or will even take some abuse for the way I paid off bad debt in a way that let NCO hurt my credit, I was misinformed and too trusting.
BB
I received a call from The idiots at ‘Full Circle Financial- Clearwater, FL’ Who are apperently owned by NCO Financial earlier tonight (around 8pm EST), claiming to be collecting from 12 years ago.
I am still fuming after the rediculoous runaround given every time I asked a legitimate question. like how could they be hired by a company that hasn’t existed since the year 2001 or so, and what is there business address so that I could confirm that they are a legitimate business (since they claim to have my social security number. I have had an issue with identity theft before.)
The first person I spoke to (probably an opener) was a spanish woman with an accent so thick, that she could barely get out a valid sentence. But when I asked for her name, she gave me Tiffany Stevens!
I first asked her for the address and she immediately had to send me to a supervisor because she “did not handle that kind of question in her department”.
The ’supervisor’ (probably the closer) asked WHY I wanted the BUSINESS address before he would give it to me: 111 N Belcher Rd Clearwater, FL 33765.
This man had a very thick middle eastern or indian accent, but sad his name was: Rusty Hawk.
He told me that I did not understand how financial institutions work, but could not explain how my credit score is so good and why this alleged bill never appeared on my creditd reports in the 8 years that I have had it monitored.
This all rings way familiar of rip off boier room telemarketers. All with phony names, scripts, and supervisors to take over when they feel they are losing a sale.
One last thing, It my be in your best interest as an american citizen to never give out or confirm your private information over the phone, and be sure and check out any one claiming to have info that you know you did not give out.
Anyway, here is a number that I did not see in the list: 866-805-6849
also 800-520-3595
I love caller ID!
Just got off the phone with Candy 60611 for my payment or $2.06 with an $8 processing fee. Initially I had a loan from UNC @ Charlotte that I somehow was not consolidated with my other college loans. NCO had previously contacted my father saying I owe money, pretty awkward. I have yet to receive any paper statements regarding any owed money. Make sure if you pay by check you call back and see if there is any other money owed. Good luck on getting paper statements. Be ready for some customer service agents with limited english.
NCO Financial Systems

NCO Phone 800-408-3617..Another fake bill
from NCO about an AT&T Number I never had.
I called AT&T to try to search the number..
they can not find the number in their system.
I think AT&T should take some responsibility here and assisted in going after them! I will be asking for a letter from AT&T to send to NCO.
NEW # IS 1-866-762-4608
i worked for NCO at their mendota hts office..and to tell you guys the truth not only do they violate fed laws..they also love to frat with each other..for example i recently saw the general manager pat deprospo kissing the human resouces generalist at the hilton..then they take us to a conference room and tell us its ok to violate the law as long as we dont stay in the gray area..wtf
NCO is using another new number. This time it comes up as “IDT Entertainment” 973-4823624 – same as everyone above, they leave a recorded message. I refuse answer any number that I do not know. I listened to the message and it was their recording.
“IDT Entertainment” 973-4823624
and if u think a debt is to old to need to be payed, you are still in the wrong as you did steal those services or cash to buy that tv you still have or what ever it may be
even though the money was loaned so long ago you never did pay it back and still got the benefits of it.
Even if it is out of stat you still owe it, it may not credit report but you do owe it.
credit reporting is only so that company’s can see how well you are on keeping up on your bills and if u been doing good for 7 years then they feel comfy loaning to you.
and yes harassing 3rd parties is wrong but bill collectors are lied to viciously every day.
and how do you deal with lies?
fire with fire.
Jesus if you owe money and never payed it, what do you expect.
You might as well steal.
And for those of you who do not agree they are at fault and it is the company’s fault for giving you the $$$ or credit or services or car loan or house loan to HELP YOU
and that they were bad for wanting their $$$ back that you were suppose to give back on time, but did not
and then they sell their account for cheaper to collections and that collections does not deserve the money,
then you are saying the American economic system is wrong.
and getting people to pay their bills and getting a decent paycheck is not easy shit to do.
pay your bills and this will never be an issue with you.
I just purchased a prepaid phone from a Telecom company, and just less than an hour after i turned it on this numbers called me 804.234.9052 and 1800.260.5570. It’s ridiculous!!
oh, and their threats about sending you to court–they never will. It costs them more money to send you to court than to work with you. They almost always never ever ever take anyone to court over something that is less than $20 K. That is directly from the mouth of the NCO guy I worked with who helped me.
My husband and I decided last year to cut up all our credit cards and focus on getting out of debt. We worked with consumer credit/greenpath, and all of our credit card companies agreed to the payment plans except for Amex. They sent us into collections after 3 months, jacked our interest rate up, then sent the debt to 2 collection agencies. One of them was NCO and the other was a smaller agency.
The smaller agency was very cool, listened to me, and set up a payment plan. The first NCO goon called about 3 x a day for a week, never telling why he was calling, which pissed my husband off. Then he started calling his place of business and threatening to tell his employer that he had a debt in collections. My husband never responded, just kept telling him to put it in writing. So finally, they got me on the phone and I read them the riot act about what the law was and what our rights were, and they’d better start playing nice and listen to us (we pay our bills, and this was by no fault of our own that the bloodsucking Amex corp are a pack of raging a-holes). Finally, they listened. . .and set up a payment plan.
But then they “called the debt” in January of this year, and demanded payment in full by the end of the month, or we could settle for half the amount. NEVER SETTLE ON YOUR DEBT. Always pay it off–if you settle it will never leave your credit report.
Anyway, we scraped together some money and paid off the debt. End of story.
But there’s more.
They have now started calling me on my ex-husbands debt! I haven’t been married to him for over 10 years! I’m just guessing that you hear about all these “toxic assets” that banks are selling so they can collect the funds. Who is going to collect these toxic assets? NCO.
These people keep calling for someone I do not know. I have had my phone number for 11 years. They just keep calling sometime 3-4 times a day. My bills by the way are paid and want someone here to justify this type of business practice. I have written my Attorney General and spoke with someone from the PA Attorney Generals office. They are well aware of these and I use the term people. NCO your days are going to full of legal action shortly…
Just a heads up. NCO has contracts for taking credit card payments for some utilities. This is just one more incursion into the financial data system, one more way they can get into your business. Call your utility company if you see NCO on your credit card statement with your utility payment and tell them you do not want NCO to have anything to do with your credit card info.
NCO EMPLOYEE STOLE MY IDENTITY!!! DON’T TRUST THEM. I’M WAITING FOR THEM TO ARREST THE BITCH IN ANOTHER STATE!!
They call me non-stop, they call other family members, all for a debt we do not owe. They don’t care. They harass and threaten and abuse and annoy us day in and day out. I’ve sent a certified C&D letter, I’ve filed complaints with the FTC, CPA, PA AG (but I get the feeling Tom Corbett is getting his dick sucked by Steven Leckerman, so that will go nowhere), and even filed a harassment complaint with my phone company and local police force.
I don’t know what to do anymore.
I hope like hell these bastards all get really, really painful, lingering, disfiguring, debilitating diseases. I hope they all end up in a home with a big Jamaican momma emptying their bowels for them. I hope they end up with colostomy bags taped to their useless, withered legs while they sit unattended in a third rate nursing home for hours on end, hungry, cold, wet and stinky.
Seriously.
There aren’t enough bad things under the sun that can happen to these vermin.
They keep calling my child’s mobile phone – and leaving messages in Spanish. They won’t stop. Several times a day for months now.
I have no credit problems, owe nobody, but they won’t stop calling. Somebody apparently gave them my phone number as a “fake” contact, but they keep calling even after I called them and explained that I have no knowledge of the person they are looking for. I work on cars… it is very disruptive (and dangerous) to have to crawl out from under a car to run for the phone… and find out it’s them… again. They simply will not stop… even after they are proven wrong. Something MUST be done about this company. Since they “play dirty”, I think it’s time the tables are turned.. and somebody starts “playing dirty” with them. Fair is fair.
Please don’t answer your phone when these idiots (NCO assholes) call your house. They are working for NCO because they are too stupid to get a real job. Just read some of the comments made by NCO employees on this site. Honestly, I doubt that most of the NCO employees have more than a 6th grade education.
Just ignore them and they will go away. Just remember – they are scum – and they are idiots – they can not hurt you if you ignore the morons.
I keep receiving calls from NCO on behalf of People PC stating that I owe a whole whopping $20. I know its stubborn, but this day in time, $20 is too much to just shell out to get them out of my hair. I closed my account with People PC over a year ago. After closing the account, they still charged my card, so I closed the card. It pissed them off so they turned me over to collections. So now I am left having to write letters to NCO, People PC, the credit companies and I will also be filing a complaint against People PC AND NCO with the BBB.
I am really glad I came across this site.
It is very heartbreaking to hear this news because my father was so worried about the phone calls. I wish he would have told me so I could do the research. He just recently passed away and to think he really had nothing to worry about.
He had all these health problems due to financial stress. And now look. It totally breaks my heart to what these people have done.
get some education!!! it’s your fuckin bills… debts..whatever you fuckin call it! don’t complain.. you just spent the money for your personal benefits.. damn! idiots! it’s not harassment.. it’s called responsibility!
you should be responsible for everything that you owe, because people from nco are not monsters…they are there to assist you. and i bet,you don’t know that!!! funny though, but then that’s true… pay the amount due,pay the settlement amount… it’s a matter of how you handle your finances brothers and sisters…
I received an automated message on my answering machine from NCO Financial Services Debt Collection Services about an outstanding debt. The message left me a phone number and a reference number to use when I called. It did not give any more info. I wasn’t aware of any unpaid debt so I was suspicious. I got an auto message about calls being monitored for quality control and then it rang for a few seconds. A man answered, reminded me that the call was being monitored. He then immediately asked for my social security number. I refused to tell him. He then asked for my account number. I said I didn’t know what account the call was about but I had a reference number. He asked for my phone number, refusing to take the reference number. I refused to give him that. He then got angry and told me I shouldn’t have called if I don’t want to give up my info. He then asked if he was talking to so-and-so. I said “No one lives here by that name.” What was that about? If he thought he knew who he was talking to then why does he need all that other info? It read like an ID scam to me but the number they gave me is listed here.
NCO calls me about once a week. i talked to them a couple of times (a lady actually) and she said i owed some students loans which i do but she said that she was goign to send me a letter and what i owe. i never recieved it and i tried calling back the number she gave me and the phone line was disconnected and now i’m afraid that i’m going to get a warrant for not paying it and i have no idea what to do. if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to email me at boltbs72@oneonta.edu.
I have been dealing with these aholes for months now. They have called me at work, I have asked them not too more than once. They call me at home all the time..They have called my grandmother, whom I have never lived with…they have called my brother in law in texas, who just moved and got a new phone number…Isn’t that illegal? they can’t be contacting family about a debt they don’t owe can they? They don’t stop either. They call continuously…even late into the night. It has gotten crazy. I am going to write a cease and desist letter and see if that helps…We will see.
New number (contacted in the last 5 days):
1-800-785-1426
It seemed like a scam (since I know I have no debt), thanks for confirmation.
No one is picking up this number, btw.
I got the letter from NCO regarding my few years ago old debt with American Express. it was dismissed before trial at 12/11/2005; why now NCO come to me asking old debt.. and How do they get my info anyway..I won’t pay any money to them for sure.
they tryed to callect a debt that was not mine.
they call me and did not wanted to send any information they only wanted the money but did not wanted to bill me, or send me the information on the account.
they did not wanted to give me an address.
they only give me this info:
William Carroll
NCO financial Sys.
P.O.Box 15889
Phone # 1-888-788-7033
they are not getting anything from me.
This company (NCO) has been calling for 9 months. This is a bill of a family member and the statement that comes monthly (from the original creditor) shows payments are timely and made each month to the store that she made a purchase from. I don’t know what they are trying to pull but one day roughly 6 months ago they (a woman) left a message stating the family member’s name and that the family member was responsible for this bill, and should pay it. If not, they would put it on the credit report, take action in court and it could result in jail time if not taken care of. I called the police at the time thinking it was a scam and was told a detective would call me back if they thought it was something to be looked into. No one called me back but I kept the message for a few days and then deleted the message. I wish now I had recorded it before I did that as they broke the law two or three times in the same message. These people are scum.
They are also in league with capital one (not in my wallet anymore) I was a mere 8 days late in making a payment and capital one hired NCO to harass us in spite of the fact that i had communicated our financial trouble to capital one i assured them they would be paid the minimum amount on payday but that a car problem had strained our finances Capital one still accepted my payment last month and again today they just have NCO financial systems harass us (i guess they figure if they do that i wont have car troubles or be late again:( ) IF YOU HAVE CAPITAL ONE……CANCEL IT OPT OUT OF THE NEW INTEREST RATES OR PAY IT ALL AND CUT UP THE CARD because they will have NCO harass you even if you are making your payments.
Apparently, I still owe Sprint 80 dollars from when I had a phone with them 3 years ago. Is that worth 10 calls a day?
We started receiving calls from this company last fall. Every time it is only a recording tell us to call a Ms. Murphey @#1877 745-0426. We have yet to call them because we know that the only outstanding debt we have is our mortgage and we are in weekly contact with them. We will be sending them a letter tomorrow morning. And if they don’t stop calling then they will also have to deal with Navy JAG.
I’m so glad I found this info today. Thanks.
I have been getting up to five calls a day from this company. For an ex-employee, my niece, my ex-brother inlaw we have not seen in over 15 years; for a man I have never met, for a man with the same first name as my husband but different last name…. One call the girl said she was calling on behalf of Dave ?somebody we’d never heard of. My husband had no clue? She went on to say “oh sure he’s in the millitary, you knew him from school he has a yellow Chevy you worked on for him”… My husband started laughing at that point, he cant even fix his own car. Where do these people get there information? Why do they have our number for seemingly every account they have on file? They keep saying they will remove our number but they just change the name of the person they are calling for. I’m so sick of dealing with them~
I contiue to be harrassed by NCO for a debt that my adult son incurred when he was not living at my residence but had used my home info. I have asked TWICE in the past year to remove my name (citing the FDCA) and they REFUSED.
New # as of 03/09/09 Something was showing on my credit report from them. We were not able to buy a house because of it. There was no contact info anywhere for them. On this sight I finally found a number. It wasn’t technically the right one, but after much holding got the right person. Turns out that it was paid off a long time ago and they never updated out credit report! They gave me the following number for updating it. 888-207-3081
I received a letter from NCO today: address PO Box 61247
DEPT 64
Virginia Beach, VA 23466
4640 Baxter Road
Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
The letter also lists a MA address:
296 Bennington St, E Boston MA 02128
(800) 260 – 5570
Here’s the thing – they sent me a letter on a credit card I am current on! I have a good interest rate, I have available balance. How is this possible?! I was worried it was an identity theft issue at first. I’m slightly relieved, but only slightly.
NCO called from 877-769-7488
I just got a call from NCO. They left a message like an arabian woman asking if I want a slurpy
what a bunch of jerks
I have a new phone number NCO is using
1-800-788-7870
To Luvenia…
If you can afford to, keep paying this. A student loan NEVER, EVER, goes away. They get bigger and bigger. Your wages can be garnished and your taxes will be snagged. I have seen other accounts in the system that have been there for 20 years- but NOT any student loan. Those are the “elite” of collections and will ALWAYS be followed through on, as I said, via wage garnish and taxes liened. Your personal information goes no where because those collections stay with the collection company.
Hey folks…do you REALLY want to annoy that horrid place?! Tell them you want to post checks. Post the checks for the next few months. Well, when the time comes to run the payment, if you do not have the money in an account, all you have to do is call them and say…sorry- cancel the payment.
They HAVE to wipe the checks out of the system! BIG NCO regulation. They can threaten you about canceling your post dated checks till the cows come home but there is NOT a thing they can do about it. Now, I sure am NOT telling people to ‘fraud’ NCO…oh no. Not me. But remember, when they call your next door neighbor…or your elderly mom and dad…and they do…
Well I will again comment on NCO. You people blame the collectors for the calls. These people are doing their job, I know, I used to work there- key word being ‘used to’. It is not the collectors you should be blaming, it is management. They HOUND the collectors- they require 300 calls a day and 2 to 3 hours of talk time. They tell a collector to call mothers and fathers, to call friends and yes, even neighbors! A collector is REQUIRED to get so much money a month, and when that does not happen, into the office for a write-up. The management walk up and down behind the collectors yelling ‘call to call’ keep calling, keep calling! It is a horrid atmosphere, constant with the threat of being fired. Now, just recently, to further scare the workers, they have to sign a paper saying if NCO gets sued, the collector has to pay a portion. If they don’t sign- they are out. They tell the collector to hound friends and family- yet if family sue…
Yes, you people are right- NCO is one of the WORST places- TO WORK!
NCO Financial Services/Solutions/Systems has been pestering me so much on a phone that I just bought from T-Mobile that I have had to change the number.
I called and told them that I was not the person that they were looking for and they promised to remove me form their list. Of course this did not work.
They were calling from 866-889-6745
Here is a new number 614-717-4395 it comes up Outsourcing SOL on the caller ID
I own a business. NCO has left 4-5 messages there just the same as everyone else. I have not yet returned any of their phone calls. I went on line to check them out and found this site! I most certainly will not return their calls now! I just hope they eventually stop calling! I am glad I did some research before calling them. Thanks everyone!
Hi,
Today, I got a call from NCO trying to collect a $3.00 and some change debt from an expired American Express Business card. I told them I thought it was a credit amount, and it was an oversight and I would like to pay it now via credit card. The rep then told me that I owed $208 and some change. When I tried to contact AMEX, their machine told me to contact NCO. I’m sending AMEX a check for $4.00 and never talking to NCO again. What a bunch of f%#@$kwads!!!
Heres one they called me with just today!!!
800-788-7870
Well lets see NCO = PITA (Pain In The Ass)
This has got to be the sleezyest collection agency in the world folks!
They must call at least 3-5 times a day for the past 6-8 months at all hours totally ridiculous.
Heres a tip for you though!!
Just remember if your debt has gone past the statute of limitations they cannot do anything!
But if you make an agreement with them on that debt the statute of limitations time period starts all over again and they have full legal rights to the debt.
So check out the statute of Limitations on all of your debts that you have and make sure that you don’t make the mistake of making a payment plan or you will be right back where you started from in the beginning.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
A new number for NCO as of 3/4/09 800.511.8670. Thanks for sharing the info about this company
I can tell each of you how to make them go away, and I know these things because I use to work for them.
NCO will never go away unless you make it PEREFECLY CLEAR to them. This means VERY NICELY requesting a manager, and advising them you are sending a Cease and Desist letter to them, and get the address. If they are calling you at work, let them know it is your work number and they are never call you there again. It is a federal crime to call you at work after that point, and you are in a prime position to sue them.
Make sure you specifically ask to speak with a Division Manager or General Manager…..never accept a Supervisor. The chain of command goes from Collector, Supervisor, Division Manager, General Manager. The division Manager is stressed enough to hit his hourly number goal, so making his day even more stressful by VERY NICELY threatening a lawsuit will help you.
You have to understand, these people are the lowest of the low. I’m not kidding. They get off on this type of work, and take pride in the fact that they BS or intimidate people all day.
I don’t owe them money, they call every day at 8:00am and ask for Jose’. My name is not Jose’, I don’t know a Jose’, etc. number they used 800-295-6724
I have been getting phone calls from the 866-251-0699 number. They called my mom. I told her to tell them that I do not live at her residence. Now they are calling my home. I am sending the certified letter as suggested. Thanks.
Got a call from NCO today 3-3-09,
#1-877-803-8009. They wanted to verify my bank info and address, I told him to F— Off and hung up and called my bank, they said never give out any bank info. So if they call again I am reporting them.
A new NCO number is: 215.441.3000. Thanks for all of the good advice.
I called the number they have been hounding me with. It is 1.800.824.9392 ext. 85272
Ask for Mr. Harris. I wonder what kind of animals these people are. He would not give me a physical address. I forgot to put this on my other e-mail.
Listen, I fell behind on a $2,300 bill. For the past 3 years NCO has taken my income tax refund. It has amounted to, ready for this, $12,000 and I am told I owe $5,500 more. I suggest everyone contact the media, your congress people and anyone else they can think of. They have called and threaten to report me to take my child and other stuff. I am so disheartened and I feel almost crazy. My number is 1-210-400-2530. If anyone can give me some good advice, please do.
Why do they keep changing or adding phone numbers if they are a legitimite company?
Anyway, the new numbers are 866-576-1447 and 800-979-6560 and ask for Dana.
new NCO number
800-877-4127
Hello to all who may read this. Lovely NCO keeps calling my house after we ALREADY told them that my father in law does not live at my address. I asked them where they got my phone number, and they would not say. I called the credit card company that they claimed to represent the first time they called. Capital One informed me that they were not calling and it was NCO Financial. They also told me that they use the services of people search to obtain family phone numbers and addresses. Isn’t this illegal? What happened to confidentiality? I am sure my father in law does not want us knowing about his bad debt. It is embarrassing, not to mention none of our business. They continue to call and harrass my husband and even asked him to make a payment on his father’s account. This is ridiculous. I am going to find out the CEOs name and mail a nice nasty letter to the CEO directly. Then maybe they will stop calling my house!
Got a call from 1-800-788-7870. It was an automated message from a woman with a British accent. They asked me to call them back at that number and cite a reference number. They were addressing me by my maiden name (I’ve been married for 10 years). My guess is that they bought some old or paid off debt. I never called them back. It definitely seems fishy.
I received 2 phone calls tonight from “private caller” at 10:27 p.m. and again at 11:53 p.m. Stated his name was “Tim” with NCO. This is CRAZY calling me in the middle of the night. What can I do?
If you people think that getting calls from these people is bad, try working for them! The place is horrid! There are at least 3 supervisors for every one person that walk up and down the aisles with their mantra…’call to call, keep calling these people- call to call”!
No loyalty to the workers- it is low-paying, stressful and if a collector does not haul in the big bucks they haul out the ‘write-up’- threaten the job. It does not matter to these people if you work accounts- some of them 20 years old, they walk up and down cracking that whip yipping CALL TO CALL! NCO has reports called ‘acurints’- print outs of all the debtors known relatives, and all the neighbors where the person lives. NEIGHBORS! We were instructed to call the neighbors.
HORRID place to work.
DO NOT LISTEN TO RAZ!!!!! If you ignore your bills they WILL haunt you later!!! By ignoring them you only face the likelyhood of be documented as (non voluntary resolution in which case after time your credit will be SCREWED. I understand where people are coming from.I myself have worked for NCO for many years (I no longer do) negotiate, negotiate negotiate and dont promise dates that you cant keep. RAZ is obviously very immature and probably has CRAPPY credit. If he says otherwise we know he is a liar! (come on Raz don’t give stupid advice) If you don’t care about your credit follow his advice but if you are somewhat of an adult get help or actually work things out with the collectors. You used the credit now its time to pay it back. You were lent the money, don’t think you can dictate its repayment terms (thats just weak and rat like)
i THINK nco IS grrrrrrrreat!!! People should never ever use their credit if they don’t think that they can pay back their bills!!! All the comments on this site are from DEADBEATS!!!!
NCO Financial Systems contacted my grandmother about an alleged debt I owed back from at least 2001. The number they left was 1-866-816-1066. The debt did not sound familiar, they offered to cut the cost 50% (and the amount was low enough that it was tempting) and on top of that, I had a credit report done in 2004 and this debt did not show up. I immediately thought it was a scam and thank God did not give my information. I think it was a cheap trick to try and get a credit card number from me.
phone number on my correspondence w/NCO is 800-822-1699.
So I shouldn’t contact this outfit? Just let them blow smoke?
I had an old debt from 12 years ago that I took care of and NCO tried to re-collect about a year ago. The day after I got the call, I called the main number in Pennsylvania and they told me they had no record of anyone calling me and that they would send me a letter verifying the account was closed, which they did. Tonight I got a call from them looking for my nephew who would never ever give them my number. Well the NCO guy would not tell me why he was calling, but asked ‘oh..so you are related?” needless to say, I did not give him any info and called my nephew immediately who has no idea what they are calling about. Turns out they called my mother too! Where are they getting our numbers?!!! That should be illegal. I am going to file a complaint with the state of Pennsylvania. You all should do that too.
there is a website (i cant remember the address. you can google “NCO Fin Sys Pennsylvania state office”
Looks like NCO has changed address and phone number – they’re now in Maryland – when I called and talked to Stephanie she said that the call might be monitored and I said well ‘ I’m recording this call’ so can forward it to the Attorney General’s Office in MD and she said that NCO does not allow calles to be recorded – I suggest everyone using this tactic going forward to get them off your back…I received a letter from them saying I owed DHL $25.41 …which of course is BS…here is the current info for these sleezebags….
on the envelope the return address is:
PO Box 15618
Department 58
Wilmington, DE 19850
the send the check to is:
NCO Financials Systems Inc
PO Box 17196
Baltimore, MD 21297
Ok, enough is enough… The only way we will get them to stop calling, is by calling them back via payphones and leveling rape and death threats at whoever answers…
Why do this?
Criminals dont call 911… NCO by definiation and history IS A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION. So, go to a pay phone, and call them back and have some fun blowing off steam with death and rape threats. Afterall, every single employee of NCO needs to be RAPED, TORTURED, AND KILLED…
Note to the FCC: I’m tired of filing complaints about these clowns and you doing nothing. Who do I complain to about LAZY AND WORTHLESS FCC PERSONAL???
I have an idea…pay your bills people. With the exception of maybe an occasional error….these are bills you did not pay whether you want to fess up to it or not.
I have been recieving phone calls from this company at least three maybe four times a day and don’t answer them due to i dont answer unknown callers. They never leave a message except for today. There number they told me to call back was 1-800-688-7929 never recieved anything from this company in a form of a letter or nothing and owe very little. Some stupid people i think
NCO started calling me from 866-816-1066 and they leave annoying recorded messages in either an American or British female voice – “Hello, we are required by law to tell you that we are a debt collection agency. We are calling to collect a debt. Please call us back at 866-816-1066.” They’ve been calling twice a day lately. I never called back because it sounded like a spam email. Recently when I picked up I yelled “Fuck you!” into the phone as soon as their recording said “Hello.” Surprisingly, the phone call ended immediately. I didn’t expect yelling at their computer to work. However, they remain persistent.
I have a new phone number 877-212-8504 I recently received a message from these folks to call back with a refrence # since all debt i am aware of is under control i am glad i found your site and will not return their call
but i will send them the letter and get them to stop before i too am getting 100 calls a day
Never, ever respond to these folks or anyone like them. Never, ever give personal information to anyone over the phone. Certainly don’t respond to a recorded message.
Just don’t respond. Don’t have answering machine messages identifying yourself or confirming your phone number.
I never cease to be amazed at how willing people are to give away personal information to strangers. Don’t give store clerks zip codes and phone numbers at the register. You can say no, people. You have the power to say no.
Anyway, never respond to bottom feeders like these people. You owe them nothing. Just ignore. One day, they, too, will die and have to stand before God and justify their lives. I’m sure that’ll go well…
NCO has been calling me about a credit card that I dipsuted awhile back, I take it was never settled, but yet they keep calling and calling sometimes late in the evening which throws me off track, when I’m trying to avoid them, anyway folks the have a new number 1-215-441-3000.
Now here’s one for you. For the last month I have been receiving calls from NCO morning, noon, and night. I never picked these calls up because, being debt free, I assumed they were telemarketers. Well I finally picked up the phone this morning and low and behold who did they ask for but my old boyfriend. Now this is a guy I haven’t talked to in 20 years, he has no idea where I live, my new name (as of 15 years ago) let alone my phone number. I asked what the call was in regards to and how they got my number, they replied this number listed as a contact. It’s a mystery how they got it but I have a feeling they might be collecting on a dept from the 80’s! Good luck with that!!!
And now the calling monster has begun…. Got one call yesterday form an “unknown number” and the guy had a very phony sounding name said it was a debt collection agency and to call … there was tons of static in the background. He did not say who the call was for I suspect it is a bill that worker’s comp was supposed to but did not pay for.
Nice of the hospital to let us know it was still due and going to this nightmare of a company.
Yesterday one call & today I got 5 calls and all from different numbers but same company.
I am not going to speak to them I have put a wrong number recorded message as my outgoing message and if that does not work I will switch my phone to fax with no paper and if that fails I will change my number.
Oh …by the way if you ever want to call an 800 number or a toll free number where they can see your number even if you block it I recommend spoofcard. You choose the number that you want displayed and you can also record the call and change your voice (woman or man)
You can get the spoofcard on ebay.
Got a call from 1-888-475-6747, they left a message on my answering machine that I couldn’t understand, so I called and asked who they were. They said only “NCO Financial” and wouldn’t explain what they were, just wanted MY info. So I knew something was odd. Googled, and here I am. Sounds like a bunch of slimeballs. Does collecting the phone numbers here make any difference? What can be done about these people?
For Raz!
Is that how you handle your obligations? Accept the fact that you dont have the money to pay your debts! Stop pretending! If you’re not responsible enough just shut up dont think that others will act the way you do, most possibly they are responsible enough! It’s a shame that you’re a loser! A bum indeed!!!
i just got a letter today from nco stating that i owe over 2000 dollars for a medical bill that i know i only owe a little over 400 on. i know i owe this bill and i know how much i owe. im glad i came across this site. so i now know how they work.
3 calls a day 6 days a week for over 6 months now, for a debt well past the statue of limitations.
I am sending a cease and desist letter promptly.
Here are 3 more phone numbers to add to the NCO list; 1-866-376-3167 1-877-214-2808 1-877-898-5004
This is some of the NCO people

im working at NCO financial system, just so u know guys, hahaha, just pay your bills on time so u wont experience such…….. you owe us!
NCO called my boyfriend today from a “Withheld” number. The lady on the line said her name is Nancy but wouldn’t tell him what the call was in regards to, just a call back # (866-934-7381) and a reference # for me to use when I call back. I have no bad dept and no credit cards. Actually, I’m currently on the road to a clean credit report (over time) as I paid off my bastard ex husband’s dept about three months ago to clear up the divorce shrapnel he had left all over my score. Officially, I am now clear of any further blemishable dept. I can only assume that this is a result of NCO purchasing some of this paid off dept. WTC! I didn’t return the call and have no intention to.
My question is; Why did they call my boyfriend? On his cell no less! No one has contacted me directly or even tried. I have never even put him down on anything as an emergency contact! I see a continuing trend here of these people going to friends and family but never actually trying to contact the person directly. Why would they do that? My number is pretty public, Its not like it would be hard to look me up! I checked my credit score and found that my phone number is clearly listed for my creditors access. If this dept was legit, they would have called me directly.
F- Um!
They are calling a cell phone for a family member of the debtor, telling them that the debtor left this number.
They are leaving messages with the debtors parents in a different state
They also admitted to being a bill collector to the parents
Okay. Having not had my cell available for a few days I had a few calls awaiting my attention. As of this point, NCO has contacted me via my cell phone a total of 6 times—all automated calls—3 by one female voice, 2 by a male voice, and once this morning by a British female voice. I have connected the calls with the document I received by matching the account numbers given in all instances. I had yet to send any notice to the company, hoping the contact would end with the letter, but now with 6 calls I know such thought to be a delusion.
One question before I officially send this letter on Monday – should I include the account number they have given in all the calls as well as the correspondence? As the number is identical in all cases I feel that would be logical. But being completely green in this situation I do not want to make any errors.
Jan. 31, 2009 10:33 a.m. Atlntic Time Their phone no. in Puerto Rico is 877-997-9496 so you can post it on your website.
Furthermore, none of the persons living at home owes anything to them and when i tried to contact them to provide them with a cell phone no. of the person i believe is the one whp might owe them money, the man (because he was not a gentleman) was so rude he even hung up the phone to me.
This is some of the employees of NCO. Please feel free to send them a message and let them know how you feel about them.

So, NCO’s bs is nothing new to me. I’ve dealt with them in the past over a $416 ER bill from years ago when I lived in TX. I paid them for it, and I did stop getting all collections about it. The weird thing, though, was that I was getting collection letters from different CAs for $416…what are the odds that they were different. This time, today actually, I got one for $75 (but they’ll take $37) and it was for an old credit card thing. OLD, as in 1999!! I paid this too, only because it was so little and, honestly I did owe it. However, I got the name and number and confirmation number of my payment this time. Russ was actually very nice and very helpful. Last time, I talked to Eric, and he actually helped me figure out what was going on with the multiple collections…turns out they were all pretty much from the same place, and all indeed for the same account!!! If I hadn’t checked, I would’ve paid the same debt 3 times! BEWARE indeed! The new number I got today for NCO is 88-432-3151
RE: NCO Financial.
Since NCO does not seem to respond to Certified Mail I though maybe the letters were being lost at their company. You might try sending your letters to Darrell R. Hastings 409 Greensprings Valley Owings Mills MD 21117 Phone 410-654-5862. Darrell is the head attorney for NCO. If he is not home leave a message with his wife Carol.
I HAD RECEIVED A CALL FROM NCO ABOUT A DEBT I OWED.I SPOKE WITH A MAN NAMED DARNELL.HE WAS A VERY UNDERSTANDING MAN TO MY PROBLEM.HE IN TURN PUT HIS SUPERVISOR ON AND TAHT’S WHEN THE POOH FLEW.I WAS GIVEN 1 HOUR TO COME UP WITH $400 OR I WOULD BE TAKEN TO COURT AND SUED.I TOLD HIM THAT I COULD NOT GET IT IN ONE HOUR,SO HE SAID OK WE WILL SEE YOU IN COURT,AND HUNG UP ON ME.I AM ON A FIXED INCOME AND TOLD HIM THAT.HE DID NOT WANT TO HEAR IT,HE STILL INSISTED I HAD ONE HOUR TO GET IT.I WAS TOLD TO SEND IT BY MONEY-GRAM.SO NOW HERE I AM WONDERING WHAT TO DO.MY WIFE HAS SUFFERED TWO SEVERE NERVOUS BREAKDOWN’S OVER ALL THIS BULL WITH COLLECTION AGENCIE’S HOUNDING US.I AM DIABETIC AND I HAVE EVEN HAD EPISODE;S BECAUSE OF IT.ANY ADVICE
Contact number 2. Now NCO has connected my cell number with my home address and has sent me an “official” postal correspondence stating that my former creditor is NES Ohio Inc. (no idea who they are) with account number xxxxxxxxx…
“Your account has been purchased by NCO Portfolio Management NCO Financial Systems Inc. is the servicer of this account. This may be reported to all national credit bureaus, if you a) do not notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the account or any portion thereof, or b) the account is not paid in full or otherwise resolved after 30 days from receiving this notice. It is our intention to work with you to resolve this matter. However, if payment or any acceptable resolution has not occurred, you account will be subject to further collection.”
They continue with an address to send the payment to, a phone number to call – 1-888-889-2816, and their website with a “unique registration code” for me to refer to. Ending with if I notify them that I dispute the validity of the debt within 30 days, “this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgment and mail you a copy of such judgment or verification.”
I have looked at my credit reports from all 3 agencies today and ALL of them say my accounts are in good standing, that I have zero potentially negative items in my report, and the requests for my credit history I am certainly comfortable with.
Not having received advice up to this point, I am going to send NCO the above cease and desist letter and see what comes of that. Suggestions and comments would be appreciated.
Why would they yell at my kid? I took the phone from her, and this guy was a real JERK. He kept going “Helllooooooo isn’t so and so there?” He was calling before 8 am on a Saturday, and I wasn’t going to wake up the person for someone I didn’t know. Finally he told me he was NCO. Then eventually he revealed it was a financial matter. I told him nobody could take his call.
He called from:
(223)051-6800
NCO started calling and sending me letters out of the blue about 4 years ago regarding a 7 year old bill they said I hadn’t paid. I had paid it, so I ignored them and have continued to ignore them. I have also blocked 10 of their numbers and try to avoid answering unknown calls that could be them (and then DO NOT answer their questions when I get stuck) but I have continued to get phone calls and letters for FOUR YEARS!!!!! I grant that it does seem to come in spurts – nothing for a month or two, but then at least one call a day for two months. Calls at 7:00 AM to boot. Just a heads’ up to everyone that ignoring them isn’t that easy…it is like a Saturday Night Live sketch from hell.
I just received a call from a company I believe is this one. They called for my boyfriend. I asked who was calling & her name was Sandra & she said the company was Enfield Group. I have never heard of them so, I googled the name & this is what came up. I am so glad I did. The comments on this page are extensive & go back to 2006. I could not read all of them so I am not sure if you all are aware of another name for this company. I figgured I’d give the heads up. The call was marked “Unknown” on my cell phone but she gave a call back number of 800-747-6058 x2551.
I received an unexpected call on my cell phone this afternoon. As I didn’t recognize the number I chose to let it go to voice mail, which turned out to be from NCO Financial. The message was a pre-recorded female voice only stating that it was an attempt to collect a debt and giving me a number to call (the same # that was showing on my phone – 800-810-0590) along with an account number/code–no name was given. I was hesitant to return the call with such little information and am glad I waited as I am not aware of any outstanding unpaid debts, but my memory can be mistaken at times. Do I call them and confront the “accusation” or do I just ignore the call? Again, it was on my cell, NOT my unlisted home number. Hmm…
new number 1-866-416-1426.
A Mr. Castro from NCO called again, at work, home and a neighbors home. He lied to us all. We keep asking for proof of the debt. Never get it.
The new number they are calling from is 800-448-9570.
I have not lived in my parents’ home for 5 years. Last night my mother called me to tell me a guy named “Irwin” called and gave me a number to call and a reference number. I called this morning and was told I owe $220.00 on a debt that was paid off in full in September 2008. I also told him to remove my parents’ number from the account. After reading all of these comments, I called back to ensure that my parents’ number had been removed from the account and to also ask where this debt came from and for verification. I explained that I had paid the debt in full and that I do not want any more calls. The idiot says to me that there will be no more calls and when asked where this debt came from says to me “We aren’t in a perfect world ma’am, this debt was transferred to us”. Needless to say I had to hangup because I am at work and should I continue talking to this a**, I would have blown up.
Yeah,
These bags of garbage tried calling me to collect a debt from a residual balance of $1.93 from a Verizon land line I had my freshman year of college back in 2000. Over time it “Gained interest” and now owe $63 dollars. They sounded uncredible and I already dont trust these types of agencies. I have recently bought a home and new car, so I was concerned of possible Identity fraud, until they told me what the debt was. I have excellent credit, none-the-less I will still pull a credit report to see if there is anything suspect. A new Number for these penis recepticles is 1-877 213-8624
I’m getting calls and mail for someone that I’ve never heard of. Even after explaining that they have the wrong address and phone number, they continue to call and send mail. For the last few weeks, I’ve been getting a couple calls every day, some even on weekends. I work nights and the calls usually wake me up.
The number NCO wants called is 800-979-6560
I just started receiving calls from NCO about some unknown dept, beginning 1/3/09. Since I paid in full all all accounts, I have no idea what they are talking about and they don’t mention anything during their pre-recorded message. Since I just moved and obtained this new (private) house voice line, who knows who they’re looking for. Calls coming from 866-822-8574 & 800-979-6560. If this continues, I will send them cease and desist letter.
Alrighty Folks!…
Raise your hand if you’ve been watching the news and are aware of the Global Economy.
Fanny Mae, Freddie Mac….GM….
…These organizations are controled by the Bernie Madoff’s of society….And so is NCO.
They are gonna be there to lick the sweat off your wallet if YOU let them….
Please don’t be stupid and enter into ANY agreement or continue correspondance with these people….The more you do the longer they will hound you.
They are worthless….Just like the debt they are trying to collect.
Let them take you to Court….They always say they will but never file. Do not be afraid of these Scabs…They are nothing without the benefit of you for their intimidation.
By the way, how many of you can actually remember the debt they are trying to collect?? I bet the debt is more than 10 years old and far beyond the Statue of Limitations.
NCO is SCUM….. Let them call everyday like they do and let the answering machine get it.
Call them back, ( they pay for all incoming calls) and give them a piece of your mind without disclosing any information of who you are. I do this frequently for my own enjoyment!
SCREW NCO !!!

you know..im hearing a lot of comments or should i say a lot of crying…i went on this site because i owe a student loan which nco help me resolve..im happy they called because im 21 years old finished school and just thought my loan was in forbearance…i want good credit i want a house..i dont want to get litgated and i dont want to get garnished and i dont want my wife to have her money taken…i think if all you people paid off the money that you owe and stop wasting your time trying to sceem your way out of debt..the “economy” wouldnt be so bad…irresponsible people make me sick…all you have to do is be “cooperative” and act like an adult..pick up the phone..and handle your financial obligations…stop borrowing money from americas banks and companies if you have no intention of paying it back..people like me that have good credit cant get approved by a bank for a personal loan because you people owe them so much money and want to hide like babies…grow up pay your bill and be a true american…GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
DO NOT EVER PAY A DEBT COLLECTOR! If you do not want the collection on your credit, you tell the debt collector that you are going to pay the creditor directly. If they continue to bother you, write them a letter like the one listed above and they will stop all contact. I know this for a fact because I’ve done it. I had a cell phone bill with AT&T that a friend of mine ran up and it went to collection for 1000.00. I received call after call from a NCO and letter after letter. I sent them a letter and never heard back from them again. I then started sending AT&T payments monthly on the bill and kept track of everything I sent them as well as check stubs and the account #. Since it’s been paid off I haven’t heard from them or the collection agency. Don’t be fooled by the collection angencies, you don’t have to pay them, nor do you have to listen to anything they say. Not to mention they charge ridiculous fees and the damage they do to your credit isn’t repairable.

Don’t trust their info. I was given a prefix to a credit card as APB, and there isn’t such a thing. There is an ANB, though.
I used to work for NCO. I’ve been reading the posts on here, and you guys need to realize something: there are problems on both sides of this issue.
Is NCO a company acting in blatant disregard of state and federal laws? – No. And no matter how many times some of you on here say that they are, it won’t make it true. The simple fact is that NCO has operated and continues to operate under strict laws that come with rather severe penalties if they are broken or circumvented in some way. NCO’ s internal policies have nothing to do with it. Debt collection is REGULATED, PEOPLE!! Has NCO made mistakes? Hell yeah. And they have been punished for it – UNDER THE LAW – to which they and every other agency/company/individual is subject to.
When someone simply vents – as it appears many individuals on this site are doing – it serves no purpose and you get nowhere. And if you sit there and spew vulgar nonsense you need to know that you are merely displaying your own ignorance. Take appropriate action if you feel you are a victim of innapropriate collection calls – don’t just complain.
I quit NCO because I found a better paying job. No other reason. The people there are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but by no means are they the monsters/scum/losers that some of you guys think.
It would be great if more than a few of the posters on here took this to heart, but based on the responses anyone trying to make a rational point on here gets, I doubt it. Oh well, at least I credited some of you with a modicum of rational common sense and gave it a shot.
Hi, we are getting dozens of phone calls from NCO from there numerous numbers they have. They even phoned my wife at work. How they got that I don’t know? They are a bunch of scammers. So my husband just got a call from this company, he never got the company name, she gave her name and number 877-315-1990 – stating he had a student loan he needed to pay – we hadnt paid on it since May of 08 – HELLO! where’s all the letters, mail, etc. stating we have not maid a payment, yet she could not provide us an acct number or anything, I asked for an email so I could send stuff in email (did not have access to fax at the time) stating we are current on all loans, she said there was not an email address to contact them by. So I call the # today (01/01/09) knowing no one will be there to get the co. name, type it in my browser and all these things come up about how evil this company is…nice, real nice company.
ok, now I’m scared. I’ve made two payments on my ex-husband’s old account just to get it off my credit. today, when I tried to call to make the third payment, the number the rep gave me is now a private number to someone else. Are these people even legit?? Could someone please contact me? I don’t dare make another payment.
